For brochures, spec sheets, and other files that change frequently, we recommend utilizing our Sync2Link feature. This feature ensures your files are updated as quickly as possible, with as little maintenance effort as possible, all while still allowing them to be available offline.

Prior to establishing a Sync2Link connection, be sure to have a copy of the file in a downloadable state on a publicly accessible website. If you would prefer to maintain the file in an internal repository (ex. Box, DropBox, Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc.) please speak with your StorySlab Customer Success Agent about establishing a connection between the Content Management System and this internal repository.

Once the file is available on the publicly accessible website, copy the link to the file. This needs to be a direct link to a supported file (pdf, image, video, etc. - for example: http:// yourwebsite /wp-content/uploads/2021/03/image-10.png). You cannot link to a full website and "download" it into the app. (Instead, you should use the "Web Content" functionality of the CMS to link to those pages, which will require an internet connection to view in the app.)

Copy and paste the link to the file into the CMS file add/edit page (see image below). After you save this file in the CMS, it will check the link to see if updates have been made to the file on the schedule you set. When a change has been made, it will automatically flow through to the StorySlab sales application. Note that this requires that the link to the file DOES NOT change when the file is updated.

From a user's perspective, the file will look and act like any manually uploaded file (ie. will still be accessible when the user is offline and can be shared via Share+).

In the event that the file is deleted on the publicly accessible website, or the link is broken in some way, the last updated copy of the file will still be available to users and you will receive an alert next to the Sync2Link Status section of the CMS. Once the link has been fixed, the connection will be re-established, and new versions of the file will resume syncing to your app.
